Large Dragonfly Patch

A red and orange gradient dragonfly with a background of thorns and a rectangular border, block printed on white canvas. Size = about 9in x 7in, or 22.5cm x 17cm

This dragonfly patch was made via block printing, so it was hand-carved from a sheet of linoleum and used to print on unprimed canvas using fabric-specific ink. That means this patch is also safe to wash (cold water on a gentle cycle is recommended, hang dry only!) So it's perfect to add to a jacket, a bag, whatever you feel like putting a patch on that may need washing later!

Every block print is unique and comes out differently, so the vibrance and boldness of this print was a lovely surprise to see! The bright colors and solid lines mean no large aspect of the design is faded or left out, but it often comes with the sacrifice of detail, as the chances of the carved lines being filled with ink are higher. This print turned out beautifully in that we lost very little detail for the level of color achieved!

The edges of the canvas of this patch are not sealed, and this patch is not iron-on, so it is recommended to use either fabric glue or sew-on methods for application. It can also be easily displayed in a frame.
